Nursing home attacked following woman's death

Kakinada, Sep 30 (UNI) An irate mob today attacked a private nursing home in Ramaraopet area here following the death of a woman allegedly due to negligence by doctors in providing post-surgical care.

Police said about 300 people, mostly relatives of the deceased, identified as Thamarapalli Shyamala (25) of Mandapet, besieged the nursing home and pelted stones damaging the window panes and furniture. The agitators also squatted in front of the nursing home, defying police orders.

Later, the local leaders of the Congress, TDP and CPI(M) intervened in the issue, following which the management agreed to pay Rs one lakh as compensation to the family of the deceased.
