NavratrI begins with religious fervour
Nashik, Sep 30 (UNI) The nine-day Navratri festivities began with traditional fervour and enthusiasm in this district of Maharashtra today despite a bomb blast in Malegaon town, that left five dead and 112 injured last night.
Security was very tight as people thronged the temples to pay their obeisance to Goddess Durga. At least one lakh people visited the Saptashringi temple.
Temples as well as homes were decorated to celebrate the arrival of Goddess Durga for her annual nine-day sojourn.
Dandia Mandal youths have also geared up for the celebrations, which started this evening.
Markets are flooded with various traditional attires, ornaments and other accessories, to add a glitter to the celebration.
