India Post helps promote local produces
Aizawl, Sep 30 (UNI) In bid to help local entrepreneurs and self-help group members sell their products through post office outlets, the postal department has put up a showcase at its head office here.
''The Showcase will display traditional and modern Mizo arts and culture besides folklores and traditional clothes prepared by self-help group members and young entrepreneurs,'' Mizoram postal division director said today.
This is in collaboration with Mizoram regional office of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
NABARD has identified six SHGs in Aizawl, Hnam Chhantu Pawl, Cod Nerc, Centre for Peace and Development, Zoram Entu Pawl, Zonu Welfare Society and Community Development Action and Reflection which will exhibit their products at the showcase.
Started in Meghalaya in August 2007, the showcase of SHG products is being set up in all other head post offices across the country, sources from the postal department said.
