Ganja worth Rs 2.5 lakh seized

Guwahati, Sep 30 (UNI) More than 50 kg of contraband ganja, worth over Rs 2.5 lakh in the international market, was seized from the Brahmaputra Mail under Tinsukia division, a railway release informed here today.

The ganja was recovered from two big suitcases by a team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) led by head constable Bhimji Mishra, while escorting the Up Brahmaputra Mail from Dimapur to Dibrugarh town yesterday.

The seized contraband was later handed over at the RPF post at Mariani, who ultimately transferred it to the Customs officials at Numaligarh, the release added.
