R Viswanathan criticizes administration

Puducherry, Sep 30: The Communist Party of India national council member R Viswanathan, MLA criticised the administration for allegedly victimising Confederation of Puducherry State Government Employees Association president C H Balamohanan by issuing notice to him a few days before his retirement on Tuesday, Sep 30.

Addressing a press conference here today, he said CPI and other 'friendly parties' were contemplating to launch a united agitation against it.

In Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister had issued a Government Order not to victimise anyone just before his/her retirement, Mr Viswanathan pointed out wondered what would be the stance of the DMK here on the issue and demanded that no action be taken against Balamohanan.

Mr Viswanathan, who demanded that the benefits of the sixth pay commission recommendations be extended to the local body employees also said the termination of employees of forest department, Texpro and government press was a sort of victimisation.

Referring to the port project issue, he said a port was necessary for Puducherry, but it should not be constructed by harming the enviornment here.

He said BKMU General Secretary Mahendranath Oza and Vice-President Viswanath Sastri would take part in the two-day 11th state conference of BKMU here beginning tomorrow.
