Co-operative officer caught in vigilance net
Patna, Sep 30 (UNI) Sleuths of Bihar State Vigilance Bureau today arrested district Cooperative officer Suresh Prasad while he was allegedly accepting Rs 11,000 as bribe at a hotel in East Champaran district.
Additional Director General of Police(ADG) of the vigilance bureau Neelmani said the raid was conducted following a tip-off that Prasad was demanding illegal gratification from one Ramrekha Prasad for his nomination as Chairman of a agriculture co-operative society.
''The co-operative officer was caught red-handed at a hotel in Motihari when he was receiving Rs 11,000 from Ramrekha Prasad, '' he said adding the officer was being brought here for his production before the special vigilance court tomorrow.
