BJP condemns privileges committee's move to summon Thackeray
Mumbai, Sep 30 (UNI) The BJP today strongly condemned the reported move of the Parliament Privileges Committee to summon Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, for his comments against MPs from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Maharashtra BJP unit vice president Kirit Somaiya said there was no need to call Mr Thackeray before the Committee in person.
He said three BJP MPs Rajendra Singh Rana (Gujarat), Veerbhadra Singh (Madhya Pradesh) and Mr Hegde (Karnataka), who are also the members of the committee, will lodge their protest against the notice.
Mr Somaiya said he discussed the issue with senior Party leader V K Malhotra.
Yesterday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray also expressed his support to the senior Thackeray.
