AP CM condoles Owaisi's death; holiday declared in city

hyderabad, Sep 30 (UNI) Shocked and grief-stricken over the death of founder-leader of AIMIM Salauddin Owaisi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is rushing back to the city today after cancelling his scheduled programmes in New Delhi.

Along with AICC General Secretary Veerappa Moily and Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas, Dr Reddy will return to the city from Delhi to pay his last respect to Salauddin Owaisi, who died here last night.

The Andhra Pradesh Government will accord a state funeral to Owaisi and declared a holiday for all government offices, educational institutions in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, including surrounding municipalities.

In his condolence message, Dr Reddy described Owaisi as the most popular and dearest leader of the Muslim community.

The Chief Minister recalled the services of Owaisi for the uplift of Muslims.

Dr Reddy conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Owaisi's sons Asauddin and Akbaruddin and other bereaved family members.
