4 dead, over 50 injured in Malegaon blast

Nashik, Sep 29 (UNI) Four people were killed and more than 50 injured in a blast in Malegaon town of the district today.

According to sources, the death toll has gone up to four and the number of the injured will be more than 50 in the blast that shook the powerloom town. Some of the injured are in critical condition.

Though less people died in the blast, others died in the stampede which followed the blast. Many were injured in the police firing also, they said.

Remains of a motorcycle have been found from the spot. The number of casualties may go up further, the sources said. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals in the area, they said.

Meanwhile, additional forces including State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) jawans have been called from here. Curfew has been imposed in eastern parts of the town, the sources added.
