3 killed, 2 injured in truck-car collision

Kolhapur, Sep 30 (UNI) Three people, including two women, were killed and two others injured when a truck collided with a car near Anakdhal Phata in Sangola tehsil in Solapur district today.

According to police, the accident occurred when the car, on its way to Barashi in Solapur from here, was hit by a speeding truck near Anakdhal Phata.

Kakasaheb alias Tukaram Shankar Lakade (71), his wife Shashikala (63) and Shailaja alias Gauri Kumar Hiremath (45), all occupants of the car, were killed in the accident. While the injured, including the driver of the car, were admitted to a local hospital.

Kakasaheb was former president of the Veer-Shev Co-operative Bank here and the chairman of the District Grain Merchants Association.
