Woman killed, daughter injured in accident
Phagwara, Sep 29 (UNI) A 55-year-old woman was killed and her daughter sustained serious injuries when the scooter they were riding on was hit by a speeding vehicle near Phillaur on national highways last night.
According to police sources, the deceased woman, Surjit Kaur, a resident of Ludhiana, was a cousin of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Hira Singh Gabria. Surjit who was on the pillion seat died on the spot while her young daughter Harsharan Kaur was critically injured in the accident.
