Tamil Nadu: Varsity moots cluster approach

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 29: The Bharathidasan University here has decided to promote cluster approach among colleges affiliated to it, in each revenue district, for sharing infrastructure, Vice Chancellor M Ponnavaikko said.

Presiding over a meeting of the Standing Committee on Academic Affairs on Saturday, he said colleges in each cluster would be able to make optimum utilisation of available resources within their periphery.

The university had nominated co-ordinators for promoting the concept among affiliated colleges in the central districts.

He appealed to the Committee to ensure the syllabi not only improved the academic skills of students but also imbibed in them a sense of confidence about their future prospects, especially with regard to employability.
