Three arrested for duping 100 people on pretext of getting loans
New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) A Botany postgraduate was arrested today for duping more than 100 people to make a living.
After his postgraduation failed to fetch him a decent job, Yogendra Prasad Gupta alias Michael (40) tried his hands at cheating people on the pretext of providing them loans, along with Satpal Singh (28) and Dharmendra Rawat (34), police said.
They were caught by the Crime Branch sleuths on a complaint filed by a Maharajganj (UP) resident, who also bore the brunt.
Several credit cards, SIM cards, six mobile phones, several incriminating documents, a car and a motorcycle were seized from their Rohini office following a raid.
The accused used to publish advertisements in newspapers, offering loans and then fleece them seeking advance commission, later closing down the office, police added.
