SWR to showcase heritage train during Dasara
Mysore, Sep 29 (UNI) South Western Railway (SWR), as part of its efforts to promote tourism, has planned to showcase the Indian Railways heritage with the oldest working engine 'Fairy Queen' on tracks once again after 142 years during Dasara festivities.
Talking to newspersons here today, SWR Senior Heritage Manager Anurag said the majestic train would roll out a trip from Mysore-Nanjangud for three days on October two, five and eight.
The locomotive would run twice a day, exclusively for the guests and invitees, Mr Anurag said. As the capacity was only 360 seats, it would be kept in the Mysore Railway station for the general public, he added.
The 'Fairy Queen' trial trip ran between Mysore-Nanjangud in presence of newspersons and officials.
