Pratibha visits Chitrakote waterfall
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Sep 29(UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, currently on a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, today visited the picturesque Chitrakote waterfall on the Indrawati river in Bastar district.
Chitrakote waterfall, about 40 Km from here, is a major tourist place in the tribal-dominated backward district.
Mrs Patil, who arrived in the state capital yesterday, arrived by a helicopter near the waterfall this morning. She was welcomed among others by Revenue Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and Public Health Engineering Minister Kedar Kashyap.
After watching the enchanting waterfall for some time, she visited an exhibition of handicrafts and tribal arts and met the artisans and functionaries of non-government organisations. She commended the high quality of the handicrafts made by the tribals.
Mrs Patil is scheduled to return to Raipur this afternoon and later leave for New Delhi this evening.
