Media Advisor takes note of mediapersons problems
Patiala, Sep 29 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister's Media Advisor, Harcharan Bains today asked the mediapersons and the district public relations office to form a joint panel of the representatives from print as well as electronic media for establishing a better liaison between the media and the administration.
During an interaction with mediapersons here, Mr Bains said that a balance will have to be maintained between the media's right to report and the imperatives of security considerations. He assured the medip ersons that he would personally take up the matter related to the issue of special identity cards to the media with the district civil and police administration.
He also asked the media to discharge their duties objectively and fearlessly and assured that all other demands raised by them would be amicably settled.
Mr Bains stated 16 posts of Information and Public Relations Officers and 23 Assistant Public Relations Officers posts would soon be filled.
He said that the state government had decided in principle to extend the facility of exempting the payment of toll tax of highways to the accredited and recognised journalists in the state.
