KSRTC to ply additional buses during Dasara
Mysore, Sep 29 (UNI) Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will run additional buses in the city and places of tourist importance during the Dasara festivities from September 30 to October 9.
Talking to mediapersons here Divisional Controller (Urban) M N Srinivas said about 450 additional buses would be pressed into service as the number of travellers was expected to increase by 50 per cent this season.
Other than the regular services, additional Volvo and Sheetal buses would be introduced on the Mysore-Bangalore route besides the 'Sarige' buses as the number of commuters on this route would be very high, he added.
This year too, special tour packages such as Jaladarshni, Giridarshini and Devadarshani would be operated once a day other than four Nagadarshini buses, he said.
The objective isto provide hassle-free journey between Mysore and Bangalore and Mysore and other district headquarters, he said, adding if necessary more buses would be pressed into service.
