IGNOU to offer 150 community radio scholarships
New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is offering 150 scholarships in partnership with Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) for students of Certificte Programming on Community Radio being launched from the January 2009 session.
Announcing this, IGNOU Vice Chairman Prof V N Rajasekharan Pillai told mediapersons here today that the scholarships would serve as an "encouragement not only for IGNOU but to all those who wish to learn the art and craft of community radio broadcasts." He was speaking at a two-day conference on Community Radio which began here today. Community radio practitioners, communication experts and academics for content planning in community radio are attending the event being organised for the first time by the academic institution, an IGNOU release here said.
