Guy Ritchie plans to make toughest, meanest Sherlock Holmes yet
London, September 29 : Hollywood filmmaker Guy Ritchie has revealed that he is planning to create the toughest and meanest Sherlock Holmes in his upcoming movie.
Based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's fiction, the movie will see a more dangerous Holmes by laying much emphasis on his physical prowess as a boxer and a martial arts expert.
The 2010 Warner Bros will star Robert Downey Jr., who is set to play the legendary detective in the forthcoming production.
"It's definitely going to be Ritchie's take," the Daily star quoted Robert as saying.
"It's going to be done in classical 1891 surroundings but it's not going to be particularly stylised," he added.
The actor further said: "What's contemporary about it is that you go back to the real truth of Sherlock Holmes. He's a lot less stoic than I remember seeing him depicted.
"He's a bare-knuckle boxer, a martial artist and a complete weirdo - which is why I said I'd love to do this."
