Duffy confesses being on the verge of nervous breakdown

London, September 29 : Welsh singer-songwriter Duffy has confessed that she is on the verge of a nervous breakdown after earning fame overnight.

The 24-year-old, who debuted at No.1 on the UK Album Charts with her album 'Rockferry', has revealed that she has been struggling with the pressure of being a celebrity.

"I thought I was superhuman," British tabloid the Sun quoted her as saying.

"But there are pressures about being in the public eye," she added.

The singer further said: I'm borderline on a nervous breakdown. I'm never calm any more. I think: 'Can I handle this? Do I want to disappear?'"

Often compared to Amy Winehouse for her singing style, the vocalist, who shot to fame with her No. 1 single 'Mercy', said: "It would be very easy to become a recluse."
