Devotee drowns in the Ganges while offering prayers

Howrah, Sep 29 (UNI) A 41-year-old man drowned in the Ganges at the Ramkrishnapur ghat under Shibpur police station in this districit today.

Police said the man accidentally slipped and drowned while offering prayers on the occasion of Mahalaya.

Divers had been pressed into service to recover the body, police added.
