Bihar govt's Rs 80 cr aid for students in flood-hit area
Patna, Sep 29 (UNI) The Bihar government has decided to sanction Rs 80 crore for providing books, study materials and uniform to the students in flood-hit areas.
The decision was taken today by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in a meeting held here today and the fund would be catered to the students by the Human Resources Development Department.
Students up to VIIIth standard would obtain Rs 800, while those studying from IX to XII would get Rs 1000 each for buying study materials, books and uniform.
Such aid for the college students would be Rs 1,200.
The beneficiaries under the scheme is estimated at around eight lakh.
