14-day judicial remand to RJD MP Shahabuddin

Muzaffarpur, Sep 29 (UNI) A local court today remanded RJD MP Md Shahabudding to judicial custody for 14 days in connection with impersonation in LLB examination held in 2005.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Jyotendra Kumar Sinha ramanded Md Shahabuddin to judicial custody for 14 days after hearing the arguments of both sides.

Md Shahabuddin was made accused for utilising the service of a person for fraudulently appearing on his behalf in the LLB examination, conducted by B R Ambedkar University in 2005.

During the inspection, carried out at the Shri Krishana Law College examination centre, a candidate was arrested for allegedly writing the papers in place of Md Shahabuddin.

On verification, the admit card issued against the name of Md Shahabuddin was also found to be fake and tampered.

Earlier, the RJD MP was brought from Siwan jail for his production in the court in connection with the case and sent back there on 14 -day judicial remand.

Later, an FIR was registered against the RJD MP at Kaji Mohammadpur police station under various Sections of Indian Penal Code relating to adoption of fraudulence and unfair means in the examination.

Presently, Md Shahabuddin was lodged in Siwan jail serving life imprisonment awarded to him in connection with kidnap and subsequent killing of a CPI(ML) Chhotelal Gupta in Siwan a few years back.
