Regular medical check-up prevents heart attack: Cardiologist
Tirupati, Sep 28 (UNI) Regular medical check-ups is the only option to prevent heart attacks, Chennai-based Apollo Cardio Thoracic Surgeon L F Sridhar today said.
According to the World Heart Federation estimates, by the year 2025, there will be more than 1.5 billion people or nearly one in three adults over the age of 25, who will have high blood pressure, one of the biggest single-risk factor for heart disease and stroke, the world's number one killer.
Marking the World Heart Day the senior surgeon said heart diseases including stroke, causes 17.5 million deaths each year, as many deaths as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and diabetes including all forms of cancer and chronic respiratory diseases put together.
