One Hizb militant killed, policeman injured in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 28 (UNI) A militant of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) was killed and a constable of Jammu and Kashmir police was injured in a fierce encounter in south Kashmir today, official sources said.

They said troops of 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), police and 183 and 182 batallion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a joint operation in woods at Kadipora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama to nab militants.

During the operation an encounter took place in which a HM militant Rayees Ahmad Dar alias Shiab was killed. One AK 56 rifle, three magazines and 25 rounds were recovered from the slain militant.

Constable Khursheed Ahmad was injured in the encounter who has been hospitalised.
