Violence against minority on rise: Deve Gowda
Bangalore, Sep 28: Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda on Sunday, Sep 28 demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the systematic violence against Christians across the country and the involvement of the Sangh Parivar and the BJP-run governments in it.
Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that violence against the minorities in the country was on the rise after the demolition of the Babri Masjid by the Sangh Parivar in 1992. Doubting the credibility of the Nanavathi Commission report, he demanded another inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge to probe all aspects of violence, including the Godhra train fire, in Gujarat.
He also demanded for the setting up of a National Truth and Reconciliation Commission to probe into all incidents of communal violence in the past and thereby restore the faith of all sections of society.
