Zilla Panchayath official held on bribery charges
Bangalore, Sep 27 (UNI) Karnataka Lok Ayukta police today arrested a Zilla Panchayath engineer for allegedly demanding bribe for an official favour.
A Lok Ayukta release here today said the official demanded Rs 6,000 from one Parappa Nagoli, a contractor, for sanctioning payment for the road works in Devadurga taluk in Raichur district.
Subsequently, the contractor lodged a complaint with the Lok Ayukta police and the official was trapped while accepting the bribe amount.
The accused was produced before a magistrate here, the release said.
