Tirupati Umbrella procession on Oct 1

Tirupati, Sep 27 (UNI) The Chennia-based Hindu Dharmastha Samithi (HDS) Trust will offer the traditional umbrella to Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala during Sri Vari Brahmotsavams slated from October one.

The traditional umbrella would be offered by the trust for the fourth time to the temple on October 4, Organising Trustee R R Gopal said in a release here today.

After performing special poojas to the traditional Umbrella at Chenna Kesava Perumal Temple in Chennai on October one, the Umbrella would be taken in a procession through the main streets.

The devotees and public were requested not to offer anything during the procession, he said adding the procession would reach Tirumala Temple in the afternoon of October four where the Umbrella would be handed over to the TTD officials, he added.

In another release, the Tirumala Tirupati Dvasthanams (TTD) also appealed to the public and devotees not to offer cash or kind to the Hindu Dharmastha Samithi Trust during the procession.
