Suspected SIMI activist nabbed in Washim
Nagpur, Sep 27 (UNI) Police today arrested a suspected activist of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) from Washim in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
The activist, identified as Abdul Khalil Ismail Chavan, a resident of Khandwa in adjoining Madhya Pradesh (MP), was picked up this morning, police said.
Khalil, a suspect in several offences in Khandwa, was staying at the house of a relative in Washim.
A team from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) from Nagpur nabbed Khalil. He was later handed over to a team of Madhya Pradesh police, they added.
