Six arrested for misappropriation of relief materials
Supaul, Sep 27 (UNI) A junior engineer and five others were today arrested for misappropriation of fund and relief materials, meant for distribution among flood victims of north Bihar.
District Magistrate N Shrawan Kumar said acting on a tip off that junior engineer Jaiprakash Mandal, incharge of distribution of relief materials among flood victims, was not discharging his duties properly and had stored foodgrains in his residence without maintaining a record in this connection, a raid was conducted and foodgrains were recovered.
Besides foodgrains, clothes, utensils and other relief materials were recovered during the raid, he said adding Mr Mandal and five others involved in the case were arrested.
Meanwhile, incharge of Relief Centre at Raghopur Swetambar Yadav was suspended on similar charges.
