Rs 10,000 cr to be spent for road development in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 27 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways K H Muniyappa today said a sum of Rs 10,000 crore would be spent for road development in Kerala in the coming years.
Speaking to newspersons here after reviewing the progress of the road works in Kerala, he said the process for tendering the works would begin as soon as the state government handed over at least 60 per cent of land in a project area.
He said 851 km roads in Kerala would be developed into international standards by spending Rs five to six crore for a kilometer.
55 works of National Highway were in progress, of which 30 would be completed by March next year.
