Police launch combing operation in search of more bombs
Hubli, Sep 27 (UNI) Karnartaka Police today launched a combing operation to search for bombs in the vicinity of Singanahalli village where three live bombs were recovered yesterday.
Police, who are yet to attribute to any organisation for placing the bombs near a bridge in the village, which were, however, recovered before they exploded, strongly suspect SIMI activists.
Police scoured Singanahalli village and some parts of Soundatti Taluk where they suspect that SIMI activists had conducted meetings and had training.
They also searched Kalaghatagi area near Hubli where the SIMI activists were allegedly running training camps.
The tracing of bombs and other explosives in the village has sent shock waves in Dharwad district and fear stricken people are now urging police to intensify their search.
However, police have appealed to the people to be calm and without fear and not be swayed by any rumours.
