Lokayuuta officials arrested an Assistant Engineer

Bangalore, Sep 27(UNI) Karnataka Lokayukta have trapped and arrested an Engineer working in Zilla Panchayath while accepting a bribe to show official favour.

A Lokayukta release here said that Raichur Lokayukta police have received a complaing from Parappa Nagoli, a contractor who had executed a road works in Devadurga taluk in Raichur district and had submitted bill for the same.

The accused engineer was allegedly demanded Rs 6000 from the contractor for sanctioning the payment and Lokayukta police after receiving a complaint had trapped the Engineer.

The accused was arrested on corruption charges and produced before the magistrate, the sources added.
