Kottayam first tobacco free district in country
Kottayam, Sep 27 (UNI) Kerala Public Works minister Mons Joseph today declared Kottayam as the first tobacco free district in the country.
Kottayam was become a model in this aspect also as in literacy.
Steps would be taken to ensure that banned tobacco products were not available near the schools and colleges in the district. The need of the hour was to fight against such evil and corruption in the society, he said.
Earlier, a declaration rally was taken out from the Collectorate premises. V N Vasavan MLA presided over the function. Suresh Kurup MP and other leaders addressed the meeting.
