JMM MLA facing murder charges surrenders in Jharkhand

Bokaro, Sep 27 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) MLA from Dumri Assembly seat, Jagganath Mahto today surrendered in about fifteen-year old case of manhandling lodged in Chadrapura police station in the district.

Mahto, who was also facing murder charges, surrendered in the court of First class Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Kumar Mishra pleading for bail on health grounds.

Public prosecutor Ramadhar Rai said the court turned down the MLA's plea and ordered to keep him in the local jail.

The court had also declared Mahto as absconder after he failed to appear on several dates.
