Industry in need of civil engineers: Pondy CM
Tiruchirapalli, Sep 27: Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaithilingam has said the engineering students should be aware of ever growing demand of skilled technocrats in the country.
Inaugurating the Cauvery College of Engineering and Technology, started by the Rana Educational Trust at Perur village near on Friday, Sep 26, he said a series of innovations and developments in the industry were providing a vast scope of career to skilled engineers.
Referring to the growing demand for civil engineers, he said there was a serious dearth of qualified hands.
In his address, V Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, Tiruchi, appealed to the engineering students to pay great care in selecting quality text-books, capable of widening their knowledge, in accordance with the syllabi prescribed by the University.
Chairman of the Rana Educational Trust and former Minister N Nallusamy said the college would focus on enhancing communication skills and mathematical ability as part of developing employability skills and general aptitude of students.
