French envoy visits Puducherry

Puducherry, Sep 27 (UNI) Mr Gilles de Robien, a special envoy of France, addressed a conference on the 'Social Polices of the French Government,' here last night.

Mr Robien, a former Labour and Education Minister of France, said there was a need to address the concerns of old aged persons in France to ensure them a long and healthy life. Unemployment problems also should be addressed, he added.

Praising the working conditions in Indian industries, M Robin, who is on a two-day visit to the Union Territory, said he had visited industries in Chennai and found that there was a healthy relation between the management and workers.

The management was showing concern for the welfare of the workers and their families, he added.
