Five people drown; three missing after boat sinks

Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 27 (UNI) Five people drowned and three children were missing after a boat capsized in river Nagavalli at Rushingi village in the district.

The deceased were identified as K Jhanesi (30), V Kalyani (35), P Damayanti (32), V Varalakshmi (26) and P Nilaveni (five).

District Superintendent of Police C H Srikanth said today that search was on to trace the missing children.

The boat was carrying a 40-member marriage party when it hit an uprooted coconut palm in the river bed yesterday.
