Dr Venugopal joins Alchemist gp as Chairman-Med Div

Chandigarh, Sep 27 (UNI) Dr P Venugopal, Former Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences is beginning the second innings of his career by joining Alchemist group as chairman-Medical Division.

Dr Venygopal would render his expert guidance and mentoring to Alchemist Group for all of its health care initiatives spread across India, announced Mr K D Singh, Chairman and Managing Director Alchemist Group here today.

In a press meet, also attended by Dr P Venugopal, Mr Singh said that the Alchemist group, under the dynamic Chairmanship of Dr P Venugopal would develop a chain of medical facilities and hospitals countrywide as well as launch various research projects.

Speaking on the occasion, the renowned cardiologist said though he had many offers from prestigious health institutions, he preferred to chose Alchemist group as he wanted to be involved in various aspects of research work, including bio-medical engineering, stem cell research and genetic engineering.

Dr Venugopal said that he found that his aspirations and ideals matched well with those of the Alchemist group and he was ''happy at the prospect of assuming charge as Chairman-Medical division of the Alchemist group, which is process of setting-up world-class medical facilities and infrastructure in India''.

The first Alchemist Hospital at Panchkula has commenced it's Cardiac Surgery Programme today under Dr Venugopal.

Mr. Singh announced that as part of World Heart Day on September 28, the Alchemist Hospital was offering a free cardiac health checkup camp guided by Dr. Venugopal.
