Daring robberies are on the rise in Patna
Patna, Sep 27 (UNI) Unidentified armed miscreants looted cash and valuables worth more than Rs five lakhs in seperate incidents here in the state capital last night.
Police today said a gang of robbers barged into the residence of the manager of a private Telecom company in Buddha Colony here last night and looted cash and valuables worth more than Rs one lakh at gun point.
Before fleeing with the booty they assaulted the servant and threatened him with dire consequences if he raise an alarm. The house owner was, however, not present during the raid.
In another incident under Kankarbagh police station area, two gun-totting miscreants intercepted a car and robbed its owners Rs 4.95 lakh in cash before fleeing, firing shots in the air.
Later the victim, the owner of a private agency, filed an FIR in the local police station. But neither the cash was recovered, nor anyone was arrested so far, police added.
Incidentally, though vigilance had been increased here prior to the coming festive season, the incidents of robbery and other criminal activities were on the rise causing concern to the law enforcing agencies.
