Chanamolu, a popular leader: YSR

Vijayawada, Sep 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajsekhara Reddy today described Former Mylavaram Legislator Chanamolu Venkat Rao as a popular leader of masses.

Addressing a gathering after unveiling a bronze statue of Mr Rao at Ferry Centre at Ibrahimpatnam, near here, Dr Reddy said Mr Rao never involved himself in controversies and won hearts of the people.

It was sad he is not with us today the Chief Minister said adding he mingled with people freely and strove for uplift of poor, backward classes and downtrodden during his long political career.

Mr Rao carved a niche in Mylavaram Constituency not only for himself but also for entire Krishna District, Dr Reddy said.
