Air travellers increase in MP
Bhopal, Sep 27 (UNI) A steep hike has been noticed in the number of air passengers in Madhya Pradesh, official sources said today.
In fiscal 2007-08, a total of 7,67,000 passengers travelled by air which was 45.38 per cent more than the previous year.
A total of 65,000 passengers preferred air travel in March alone, official sources said, adding Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy also confirmed this in its edition of June 2008.
However, maximum number of air passengers - 5,48,000 - were registered from Indore in 2007-08 which was 53.1 per cent of the total air travellers from the state, indicating substantial growth in trade and industry in Indore.
The second position was secured by Bhopal as 29.1 per cent more people travelled by air in 2007-08 as compared to 2006-07. The state capital has 2,18,000 air goers in 2007-08, sources added.
