Air Marshal Radhakrishan hands over reigns of ANC

Port Blair, Sep 27 (UNI) Air Marshal S Radhakrishan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, today handed over the reigns of command to Rear Admiral P K Nair.

The Air Marshal was presented an impressive 50-men Inter Service Guard of Honour at INS Jarawa, a Naval base situated at Port Blair.

Rear Admiral P K Nair, the Chief of Staff of the ANC, took over the Command from the Air Marshal. After the handing over of the Command, the Air Marshal was given the traditional and touching pulling out by the Command staff.

On January 1 this year, Air Marshal Radhakrishan had taken over the Command as the Seventh Commander-in-Chief(CINCAN) of the Andaman and Nicobar Command. He is moving to the Southern Air Command as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief.

The ANC, with its headquarters at Port Blair, which came into being on October 8, 2001, is the first integrated theatre command in India with headquarters at Port Blair. It operates directly under the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff.
