225 Pak women killed for honour in past 6 months

Lahore, Sept 27 : At least 225 women have been killed in different incidents of honour killing in the past six months across Pakistan, a new survey conducted by an NGO has revealed.

According to the report prepared by "Aurat Foundation", the practice of honour killing was prevalent across the country though it was called by different names in different parts of the country.

The survey covered details of women killed for honour between January and June this year, the Daily Times quoted Malik Asghar of the Aurat Foundation as saying.

The number of women killed during the six months for reasons other than honour was 722, the survey report added.
