Youth get capital punishment

Manjeri, Sep 26 (UNI) A Fast Track Court has awarded capital punishment to a youth for killing a pregnant woman at Kadampuzha in Malappuram district of Kerala last year.

Additional Sessions (Fast Track I) Judge, K M Balachandran sentenced Monathil Mohan Das alias Vineesh (23) to death after finding him guilty of killing Khadija (30) on March 26, 2007.

The judge, who allowed the accused to go in appeal, said execution would be carried out only after confirmation from the High Court.

According to prosecution, enraged over denial of money on loan, the accused, hacked to death Khadija in front of her daughter on the fateful day.
