Pak airports on alert; troops kill militants

Pakistan, September 26, 2008 : Security was stepped up at airports across Pakistan on Thursday following a telephone threat of a bomb attack at Islamabad airport.

Only people with tickets and no vehicles were allowed in to the airport. Security has deteriorated alarmingly in nuclear-armed Pakistan over recent months with the military attacking Al Qaeda and Taliban strongholds in the northwest while the militants have responded with a string of bomb attacks.
