TN Squadron Officer selected for YEP
Tiruchirapalli, Sep 26: Senior Under Officer C V Prashanth of second TN Armoured Squadron NCC Tiruchi had been selected for the NCC Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) at Singapore this year, according to an official press release from NCC.
Prashanth, third-year under-graduate Physics student of St Joseph's College here, was the only cadet from Tiruchi NCC Group selected for the YEP. It was not all that easy for Prashanth, who represented the Tamil Nadu NCC Directorate in the Republic Day Camp in January, having to face a stiff competition from his counterparts of other NCC Directorates during the selection of senior division cadets for the YEP.
He had to clear written test, firing, individual drill, group discussion, elocution competition and finally the interview. The interview was conducted by a panel of top Army officers headed by the Director General of NCC, the release added.
