TN CM warns elements disturbing communal harmony
Chennai, Sep 26 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today warned of stringent action against those disturbing communal harmony in the state by indulging in attacks on place of worship.
In a statement here, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said after the attacks on place of worship in Orissa and Karnataka, there were some instances of attacks and stone pelting on place of worship.
He said Tamil Nadu remained a haven of peace without giving any room for religious intolerance.
''Some forces inimical to this are trying to disturb communal harmony and humanism by attacking place of worship,'' he added.
Asserting the government would not remain a mute spectator to such incidents, Mr Karunanidhi said the State Police would take stringent action, whosoever they may be, against those indulging in such acts.
''The government will not hesitate to take punitive action against them,'' Mr Karunanidhi warned.
