Three militants killed in north Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Sep 26 (UNI) Three militants were killed in a fierce encounter in north Kashmir today, a defence ministry spokesman said.

He said troops, on a specific information, launched a search operation at high altitude on Bandipora-Ganderbal track and nabbed militants.

During the operation, militants attacked troops, triggering an encounter, he said adding so far three militants were killed. Three AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.

He said the operation was still on when the reports last came in.
