Threat e-mail sender frequented abroad, passport seized
Shillong, Sept 26 (UNI) Monimul Haque, in his 30s, is a third-year law student and tech-savvy and comes from a middle class family, but has been abroad on several occasions.
Haque, arrested last night for sending an e-mail threat to kill BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani during his visit to the state on September 29, as part of his nation-wide campaign, ''Sankalp Yatra.'' Police also have seized his passport and other incriminating documents from residence at Laban, Howell road.
During the raid yesterday police recovered newspaper and magazine clippings related to violence in Kashmir and other violence related with minorities apart from religious literature.
'' Haque has visited to Dubai, Bangladesh, Bahrain and other middle east countries on several occasion although he hails from a middle class family,'' a top central intelligence official told UNI here.
Not just travelling abroad, security agencies found that Haque made several calls to the United States, Africa and other countries.
'' His cell phone data revealed that he has been calling abroad and the last international call he made was almost for 300 minutes,'' the official added.
